About this property

Welcome to Leonardo Hotel Edinburgh Murrayfield

Leonardo Hotel Edinburgh Murrayfield offers a modern stay with a focus on comfort and practical amenities. Guests can enjoy chic rooms and access to Juvenate Health & Leisure, a well-reviewed health club featuring an indoor swimming pool and gym facilities. The on-site Westview Restaurant serves meals with views over the city, though some guests have noted the dining service can be inconsistent at busy times.

Located on Clermiston Road, the hotel is a short walk from Hillwood Park and about 1.4 miles from Edinburgh Zoo. While it sits a bit outside the city centre, convenient public transport options make Edinburgh’s main attractions, including Edinburgh Castle and the National Museum of Scotland, easily accessible within a 15 to 20-minute bus ride.

Guest experiences reflect a mix of positive and more critical observations. Many praise the cleanliness, comfortable beds, and relaxing spa area, while some mention that portions of the staff appear less proactive with assistance. The location suits visitors seeking proximity to parks and family-friendly activities rather than those wanting immediate city-centre access.

The property supports an LGBTQ+ friendly environment, and check-in occurs from 15:00 with check-out by 11:00. Its practical approach and health facilities make it a reasonable choice for travellers prioritizing value and wellness amenities outside the busiest parts of Edinburgh.

I had read reviews before booking and was slightly concerned as there were a few negative reviews about staff and location . My experience was fantastic from the moment we arrived as we were recieved by a lovely welcoming receptionist who sorted the booking in an instant and was very sweet and informative. The room was clean and very comfortable and I felt the hotel had a warm atmosphere. My son and I chose to have a meal in the restaurant and were given great service by the bar and waiting staff.Food was really good and the Manageress was excellent running around and ensuring customers were happy and attended to there every need.Top marks to the staff and for the excellent service. I would recommend this hotel .As far as location and complaints about the distance from Edinburgh city centre these people obviously got on the no. 1 bus instead of the 26 which only take 15 /20 minutes to take you into the centre of Edinburgh. No complaints from me and would book again.

Location: Was a short walk to the bus and other activities. A bit away from city center but a stone throw away from the zoo and park. The staff while very nice didn’t seem too bothered to be helpful. They asked if I needed help, after they watch me struggle with luggage- I had asked for a trolly for help but they didn’t have one. “Oh did ya want any help with yer bags?” As I grabbed the last and lightest tote. The ask after I was literally done was an obvious avoidance of wanting to actually help. The bar staff was busy running around but was no were to take orders and ultimately had to go to the bar myself to order and then go back to get, cutlery, drinks, and pay. I would have like to sit and just enjoy my meal but that didn’t happen. I am only giving 3 stars as some of the staff was very nice and genuinely thoughtful otherwise would have been lower. Easy enough things to change. Rooms Were clean and tidy. Properly stocked and convenient.

Comfy, large bed. Shower was great, good pressure and temperature control. The bathroom could use more hooks for hanging towels, such as on the back of the door but that’s just preference. There was only one bar at the end of the shower to hang towels. The only downside was that we were placed in a room which was at the end of a hallway nearby a door to the stairwell, which could be quite loud with people frequently passing through.

Rooms a little dated but definitely more than suitable. Sat in the bar on my birthday and the absolute stand out star of the show has been Tam the bar man, nothing was too much for him and he made my birthday so amazing! Hes the jewel in your crown, keep hold of him as he is worth his weight in gold!

I was so worried before booking looking at the reviews but honestly don't worry yourself! If you are looking for a comfortable, clean hotel nothing too fancy then go for it! Yes the pool can be busy but manage your expectations for the price and ask the workers for best times. Only downside is bar can be pricey but the service is great. There is a £6 tray charge so watch out for that one. Overall great hotel in a great location for a fab price.

It was great to see that the girl from reception was working as when I went for dinner, there wasn't a single clean table even though there was only 6 people in the bar. There was 2 guys behind the bar who were obviously friends with 3 of the customers. My food was slightly different from what was ordered, but the food was still good. Even if I had to clear the table before the food arrived. I was sitting having my dinner with dirty places on empty tables at both sides of me. All the tables in the bar, even though they were empty, had dirty plates on them for the full time for my food to arrive and for most of the time for me to eat it. This was when the receptionist came out and started tidying the bar are. Other than that, the room was comfortable and I enjoyed the pool. Please thank the receptionist for her commitment and diligence.

I had an excellent stay at this hotel. The room was very clean, well maintained, and quiet, which made it easy to relax and rest. The staff was friendly and attentive, and both check in and check out were smooth and efficient. The spa area was a real highlight. It was clean, calm, and well organized, with great facilities and a relaxing atmosphere. It was the perfect place to unwind after a busy day. Breakfast was fresh and good in quality, although the selection was not very diverse. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend this hotel and spa. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Booked here got an upgrade as there was a little mix up with rooms which wasn't anyone's fault just a human error. The upgrade was greatly appreciated. Breakfast Was great, coffee even better. Just a bus ride away from old town Edinburgh for £2.50 Uber £15 to return. Staff very helpful Reasonably priced
